Prepare slaughter for his children
_for the iniquities of their fathers,
_that they do not rise,
_nor possess the land,
_nor fill the face of the world with cities.
For I will rise up against them,
_saith the Lord of Hosts,
_and cut off from Babylon the name,
_and remnant,
_and son, and nephew,
saith the Lord.
I will also make it a possession for the bittern,
_and pools of water;
_and I will sweep it with the besom of destruction,
_saith the Lord of Hosts.
